Über die Zeitschrift

Chromosomics aims to cover all aspects of chromosome architecture, DNA structure and biology. Papers on applications of suited techniques to acquire new insights into relevant research topics from biology and medicine are welcome. Submissions from following fields can be submitted:

  • Human and clinical genetics
  • Solid tumor and hematological malignancies
  • Genomics & Transcriptomics
  • Animals
  • Plants
  • Bacteria
  • Mutagenesis research
  • Nuclear architecture
  • New technologies
  •

We are convinced that the Chromosomics will soon become a valuable and well recognized resource for chromosomic research all over the world. The main intention and argument for opening another journal in a rapidly growing field of genetically oriented journals is that major parts of genetic research and diagnostics are focusing exclusively on DNA-sequence. Unfortunately, this point of view is also demonstrated by problems facing when trying to publish research data ‘only’ based on chromosome-research. By including the ‘old fashioned’ word ‘cytogenetics’ into the journals name we rather want to stress that the chromosomes as underlying structures and biologically necessary regulatory elements of the nucleus deserve much more attention than they presently obtain. From our point of view there is no reason to consider research on chromosomal changes patronizingly, in contrast cytogenetic approaches need to be encouraged and where ever feasible combined with modern high throughput and bioinformatics approaches to learn more about the nucleus, the interactions taking place there and its influence on the cellular metabolism.

Overall, we welcome your submissions to the Chromosomics and look forward to your high quality submissions.
